Life Update: Where Have I Been?

If you look back at my last post, you will see that it was written back in September 2019. I know that’s a long time but it was because I was pregnant and I had no desire to write any blog posts. It’s not like my pregnancy was terrible, it’s just I didn’t have any energy. I’ll give you an brief overview of how my pregnancy went to catch you all up to where I am now, a mother to my handsome son Isaiah.

First trimester

Hubby and I found out we were pregnant on September 29th and confirmed it on our Anniversary October 2, 2019. It was literally the best gift we could ask for. We both had already took that day off and to find out we were pregnant with our first child made our 3 year anniversary extra special!

During the first trimester, I was nauseated majority of the time all day, not just in the morning like a lot of women. It was really rough especially going to work every day and no one knowing I was pregnant. The only thing that helped me feel somewhat better was ginger tea that I made. If you’re not familiar with ginger tea, all you do is cut up a few pieces of ginger root, add it to warm water and add honey for taste. It works wonders!

Second trimester

Second trimester was better because I wasn’t nauseated as much. I was so glad to finally start feeling like myself again. During this trimester is when hubby and I announced we were pregnant. My mom and dad already knew but we told everyone else on Thanksgiving! Our families and friends were so happy for us. It was such a great day. Also, during this trimester we found out we were having a boy!! Disclaimer- I was a little disappointed at first because I really wanted a girl. But God had other plans and every time I look at my son now, I’m constantly asking for forgiveness because he is the most precious gift I could ever have.

Third trimester

Third trimester was the best trimester because I had so much energy during this time. A lot of moms who I’ve talked to have said the same thing. During this trimester, you are basically nesting  or getting your home ready for your new baby. That was my husband and I main priority! During this trimester, I also took my maternity pictures and had a virtual baby shower (due to Covid-19).

Also, during this trimester, I went to pre-term labor and had my son at 36 weeks. It was so crazy how this happened but basically, I went to my 36 weeks appointment on May 5th, 2020 only to find out I was l already 5 cms dilated. I know crazy right. I didn’t remember feeling any contractions prior but being my first child, I probably had them and didn’t know lol. I went to the hospital that night and had my son the next day May 6that 10:55 am. Overall, the experience went really good and I know God was with me every step of the way!

Now that you’re all caught up, please welcome my son Isaiah to the blog! He’s now 2 months and growing so fast. I’m so glad God saw me fit to be a mother and I don’t take it for granted. Being a mother brings me so much joy!
