3 Tips on How to Mix Prints and Patterns

Mixing prints and patterns is so fun! I have recently started playing with different prints and I’ve been having a great time finding prints that pair great together. Fashion is a great way for me to express myself and I feel like wearing different prints shows my bubbly personality! Here are my top 3 Tips on How to Mix Prints and Patterns together for a chic look.

Find a common color

As you can see above, the common color in this look is Gold/Brown (not sure the exact color lol). Finding a common color will make creating your outfit so much easier. Mixing prints and patterns with the same color will make your outfit have a more of a cohesive look. In the look above, both the Floral Cami Top and Gingham Blazer are from Goodwill, shorts are from H&M, and heels are from Lulus!

Break up the look with solids

When mixing prints and patterns together, you want to break up the look with a solid color so that your outfit can look more flawless. Neutral colors are a great way to do just that! In my outfit, I broke up the prints with my off white shorts. You can wear a solid blazer and have your top and pants with prints and patterns or maybe have a solid belt. There are other ways to break up your look with solids it just depends on what your wearing.

Stick to two prints

Sticking to two prints works great together! Anything more than that would be a bit much. It doesn’t matter which prints you choose to pair together. You can pair a more busy print like floral with something simpler like stripes or gingham. But regardless of how you style your look just have fun with it!
