30 Fun Facts About Me

In honor of my 30^th birthday, I wanted to share 30 fun facts about me so that you can get to know me better!

1. I am a Woman of God. I love Jesus and I have a personal relationship with him.
2. I love to have devotion in the mornings. I either would use the Bible App or my book, New Morning Mercies A Gospel Devotional by Paul David Tripp. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a good devotional to read.
3. I’m a faithful church goer. No matter how tired or busy I am, I make it a priority to attend church. I enjoy being in the atmosphere with other believers worshipping God.
4. I love to journal. I journal about everything!
5. My favorite color is pink.I love wearing and getting my nails pink. If I wasn’t married, my home décor would be pink and white lol.
6. I played basketball my whole life. I played for the rec, middle school (Sego Middle), high school (Butler High), and college (Allen University). After attending Allen University for two years, I transferred to Paine College and that’s when I decided to hang up my sneakers for heels. Basketball played a huge role in my life and it will always have a special place in my heart. I pray when I have kids, at least one of them will play basketball lol.
7. I love science. Science was always my favorite subject in school. I would always get excited about science fair projects lol. I got called teacher’s pet and nerd in school but I didn’t care. This leads me to my next point.
8. I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a Master’s of Public Health. I went to both Allen University and Paine College for my undergraduate degree and Augusta University for my Masters degree.
9. I am a full time laboratory technician at the Cancer Center at Augusta University. I love my job. I’ve always enjoyed working in the lab so when this door opened for me to do what I love, I took it. I will share more about why I chose this as a career in another post.
10. My husband and I met on Twitter. That’s right, we did things differently. He claims I was stalking him by retweeting all his posts lol. He slid in the D’Ms and from there it was history. I will talk more about this in another post so stay tuned.
11. I have been natural for a year now. I was afraid to do the big chop so I transitioned for 11 months and cut off my relaxed ends on January 12, 2018. I could not be happier with my decision to go natural. I love my kinky hair!
12. I love to shop. Shopping brings me so much joy!
13. I love dogs. I was raised with dogs. Growing up, my mom always had a house dog and my brother had dogs in the backyard. I want to have a house dog but my husband doesn’t like dogs so I doubt I’ll ever get one.
14. I have one sibling. I have an older brother named Damenian! We are 6 years apart.
15. I love to read. Reading has always been a hobby of mines. I enjoy reading inspirational and self-help books.
16. I don’t like public speaking.I fear speaking in public. But this year, I plan to overcome that fear because I have things I would like to share with women all around the world and I can’t do that if I’m afraid to speak in public.
17. I love to attend and plan events. I thought about having my own event planning business but that’s on hold at the moment. I may or may not pursue it. Even if I don’t, I’ll work alongside with someone who already has an event planning business.
18. I love ice cream. I have to have some at least every other day. I Know that’s not good for you but I like what I like…shrugs.
19. I would love to vlog but I’m camera shy so I don’t know if that’ll ever happen lol.
20. I’m really tall, 5’10 to be exact. Tall girls rock!!! I was always the tallest girl in my classes growing up and it use to bother me. But now, I embrace it and I’m thankful God made me this way.
21. I love spending time with my mom. She’s literally best friend! I love her so much! #mommysgirl
22. I love to go thrifting.I usually go thrifting when I’m looking for something particular for a really low price.
23. I’m really old school, meaning, I like to write everything out. I’m more efficient when I write things out especially my to-do lists.
24. I would really love to visit New York and Paris one day.Those two places are on my bucket list!
25. My dream car is a red Mercedes Benz. I love red cars for some reason and a Mercedes has always been my favorite type of car.
26. I love getting my nails done. I literally feel like its apart of me lol. Getting them done always makes me feel like a new woman.
27. I would consider myself as an extrovert and introvert. Can you be both? I love to be around people but I also like being to myself.
28. I love to travel. I don’t travel often but when I do, I enjoy every minute of it.
29. I love watching Lifetime. Some people may call me old but I don’t care lol. Lifetime has great movies and shows!
30. I don’t laugh at a lot of my husband’s jokes because it takes me a while to get it lol. But I still love him lol.
