In order to have a successful blogger shoot, there are a few things you must do!

- Plan out your outfits in advance. Planning your outfits in advance will help your shoots run smoothly because you will already know what you’re going to wear and you won’t be stressing the day of your shoot on your outfits. I like to use a word document or excel spreadsheet to plan out my outfits. Its nothing fancy but it keeps me on top of my looks so that I will already have an idea of what look I’m going for the day of my shoot.
- Find a photographer. I’m blessed because my husband is a photographer so he takes all my pictures. A photographer can be anyone from your spouse, friend, or a professional photographer. You want to have great pictures so having a photographer who knows what they are doing is key for a successful blogger shoot.
- Find a location. I can’t stress enough how important it is to already have in mind where you want to shoot. Don’t go looking for a location the day of the shoot because it will take up time and a professional photographer may get irritated. Depending on the photographer, they may charge by the hour so you don’t want to waste your time and money on something that could have been avoided if you just have planned for it sooner.
- Practice posing. This tip is a big one especially for me because I’m not a natural lol. I have to practice my poses and make sure my photographer gets those angles! I usually like to get inspiration from Instagram or Pinterest. If you are a natural then don’t worry about this tip but for those who are not…practice make perfect! I’m still working one my poses but thank God I have come a long way lol.
- Timing of the day. I think its important to pay attention to the timing of your shoot because your pictures will reflect it. I recommend shooting early in the morning just after the sun rises or maybe two hours before the sun sets. I prefer shooting when its cloudy!! If its not cloudy, then I like to shoot later on in the day when the sun is going down. Also, shooting in the shade will give you great natural light!
